I love 6th graders. Tonight at sunago (our 6th-7th grade group) one of our volunteers was trying to tell the story from Luke 7.36-50 of the prostitute who anointed Jesus’ feet in the presence of Pharisees. One of our 6th grade guys was trying to get all of the characters straight. He couldn’t figure out the word “prostitute” – he kept calling her the “prosecutor.” Finally, we all said prostitute outloud a few times together. That helped. After a few more minutes, he finally thought he was figuring it out, and he said:
“So the Prostitute isn’t more special than the feces?”
Of course, when he said feces, he meant Pharisees. Well, who can blame him? Pharisees happen.
