The roadtrip was a success and Josh and I arrived home last night. I’m up in Olympia running a few errands today and enjoying Caffe Vita and their free wifi. I’m not sure what I did before WiFi (that admittedly sounds pretty dramatic and pathetic, but I really do love the wifi). It’s a cool little coffee shop in downtown Olympia, which is a pretty cool town. I’ll probably be hanging out here when a fair amount during the month of August, which is going to be pretty open for me, before heading off to PTS.
The road trip was good, and some of my favorite times were just the conversations had along the way, with Josh, Tony B., Bryan Cosby, Yohann Anderson, John & Meghann May, Susie Powell, Brother Lawrence and Abbott Philip and others who I’m probably forgetting. It’s nice that I have one day here to unpack, do laundry and pack up before I head to the FTE Summer Conference on Excellence in Ministry. I’m looking forward to hanging out with Travis (who I met while visiting Princeton last fall), the other FTE Ministry Fellows and just relaxing in Pasadena, CA for a few days. Then I’ll be back home working on my talks for Niner’s Camp at Camp Sawtooth, July 4-9. I’m doing the camp with my friend Andy Konigsmark, and we’re going to have a great time. The “official” camp theme is “Called According to His Purpose” and the main resource for our talks is supposed to be The Purpose Driven Life – although Andy and I aren’t using the book at all, so we’ll see how that goes over with the Camp Board. I really have no idea what I’m actually going to say, but I know it’s going to be fun. Hoping to try out some new things at the camp this year – anyone have any really *unique* things they’ve done or seen done at summer camps…?
Anyway, it’s good to be back, and I hope to be blogging from Pasadena…
