Real World :: San Diego

January 15, 2004 Adam Walker Cleaveland

Okay – so, that picture up there almost looked like Real World Chicago, or was it Vegas, or…wait, don’t they always get naked, drunk and get into a hot tub? Come now – Jon, the Christian country-singer [Season 2] would never have done that!

But, I have a problem. Yes, a problem. Time for another confession from Adam. Tonight I sat in front of the TV (which I don’t do often) and watched 2 epsidoes of the 14th season in San Diego. And I think I’m hooked. Sure, all they do is prance around half-naked, drink, talk about sex, have sex, do a little work now and then, talk about sex some more, and then throw in the random “real life issue” to deal with (e.g. racism). But it’s great. I mean, where else in less than 24hrs do you see 2 couples already start hooking up, hear 1 guy whine because if he *doesn’t break up with his girlfriend, he’ll have to go 5 months without sex (his longest stretch ever…), 1 guy break up with his girlfriend, 2 minorities bond b/c they feel like outcasts, minors get completely piss-drunk, hear all 7 wax about the “important” things in life (i.e. finding yourself, finding out who you really love by having sex with everyone), 1 girl freak out because she’s paranoid of cruise ships, and 2 people (before “spooning” the night away) get into an in-depth religious conversation about Agnosticism. I mean, really – it’s beautiful.

So, unfortunately, I think I’m hooked.
