A friend sent me a note a few days ago [along with The Landry News, by the same author as Frindle]. It was a quote by Augustine:
We stand in awe of the ocean,
The thunderstorm
The sunset,
The Mountains.
But we pass by
A human being
Without notice
Even though
The person
Is God’s most magnificent Creation.
Let us not pass by God’s most wonderful Creations, like the Priest or the Levite – but let us treat others as the Samaritan, let us view others through God’s eyes.
