She

March 15, 2004 Adam Walker Cleaveland

I have never named a car before. My last car was an ’81 pea-green Honda Civic station wagon, and she really deserved a name, but I never picked one and stuck with it. So, today, on the 2004 Ides of March, I proclaim the name for my ’92 Subaru Legacy. Her name is She. The name really works perfectly in the numerous scenarios I ran through in my mind: (“How is She doing?” / “She really needs a wash.” / “She can do it.”). I’m really hoping that She and I will have a long, hassle-free relationship.
