Antihell. It’s a clothing company, based out of The Dalles, OR. They always come to the concerts in Boise. I saw plenty of Antihell shirts this evening, including a new one that says BIBLE*THUMPER on the front. I saw a guy wearing it and finally I had to go up and ask him about it. Below is our conversation:
Me: So, you gotta tell me about this shirt here…
Shirt-Guy: Oh, it’s Antihell – it’s bold! My cousin is the owner.
Me: Really…so, why would I want to wear a shirt like that?
Shirt-Guy: Oh, it’s bold! It’s out there…Bible thumper!
Me: Yah, but there are some pretty bad connotations that go along with the idea of a Bible thumper…
Shirt-Guy: Oh, it’s bold! I’m proud to be a Christian!
Me: Well, I’m glad I’m a Christian too, but I don’t want to be viewed as a Bible thumper.
Shirt-Guy: Well, I’m proud to be a Christian, I’m thumping away, and I want people to know!
Me: Interesting…well…thanks (as I walk off)
I really can’t handle this kind of stuff anymore. Apparently because of some miscommunications or other issues, Antihell couldn’t sell their gear at the concert (although two of my girls went out with this guy to his car to get the shirts…they were reprimanded later by one of our female leaders about going out with some guy to his car…) – I guess I’m kind of glad about that. Is that so wrong?
