Emergent Convention: General Session #3: Prelude

Jeff Johnson led us in a time of contemplative singing: keyboard, violin and flute. We are supposed to be silently praying for 3 min. I think I’ll do that.

Jesus, remember me, when you come into your Kingdom. These were the words we prayed. Jesus, remember me, when you come into your Kingdom. Jesus has come into His Kingdom…Jesus reigns, and He does remember us. Every day. He remembers us and calls us to come into his Kingdom too – he calls us to come into the Kingdom of God – to bring it about. He remembers us. And calls us into the kingdom…

Selah. The images and words on the screen remind us to pause. To be still. Pause, rest, worship: the words remind us. Selah. And that is the ironic nature of .bE for me. I cannot rest during .bE – I put energy into creating an experiential worship environment for others to come and rest, and I am not comfortable to rest during it. How do those who create these worship environments feel the freedom and have the space to worship as well…
