Had a wonderful evening tonight. Bob Carlton (The Corner) organized a wonderful dinner tonight with fellow bloggers (so we had Lilly & Rob Lewin, Jonny Baker, Gareth, Michael Toy, DJ Chuang, Bob, Theoblogian, and many others who I’m forgetting right now because it’s 1.45am. We had a wonderful BBQ dinner and good conversation. Jonny, Gareth, Michael and I talked about my experience with the women who are more into new-age spirituality and their desire and interest in .bE (the alt.worship service I do) – and how that is not necessarily a bad thing – we need to be looking for where God is working in ALL the world – not just where we would “expect” God to be working…good good good.
Then Jonny, Gareth, Michael, Lilly, Gregg and I hung out in the lobby bar playing around with our Macs and just having a great time, sharing stories and taking pictures of the 12″, 15″ and 17″ers. Wonderful time. After that, Gregg and I went upstairs where we joined Tony Jones, Dan Kimball, Mark Riddle, a few guys from Zondervan for food and conversation – again, another really wonderful time, just sitting around, making fun of the emerging church and shooting the breeze. Just a really great time together.
Gregg and I then went around downtown Nashville (the Strip, I don’t really know what it’s called. Took a few pictures and enjoyed (well, “I” enjoyed, he had to drive home) another Newcastle Brown Ale and shot some pool. And now it’s WAY too late for me and I need to get to bed. Emering Women Leader’s breakfast is in the morning – I’m sure it’s going to be wonderful…way to go Jen!
