(The Men: Steve, Bryan, Adam, Jesse)
I’m sitting in a coffee shop in Olympia incredibly sore. Our hike ended up being a really great time, but extremely exhausting. I slept a solid 12 hrs last night and it was amazing. Our hike was up around Mt. Baker and the hike was up to the Yellow Aster Butte, and it was absolutely gorgeous. Check out some photos below. We had about a 5 mile hike (that was primarily UP, UP, UP) out to the butte where we camped. We were extremely exhausted when we finished, but we found some very refreshing pools to swim in and Bryan and Steve did some great cliff diving. We had a lot of fun trying to cook dinner (our stove ran out of fuel), saw an amazing sunset (and did some goofy posing in front of it), relaxed outside that night (it was so perfectly still and quiet, and no bugs, and warm that night), survived a little rainstorm, slept comfortably (uhh, yah right – we really didn’t sleep much that night), enjoyed some deep, probing, theological discussions (umm, not really, but our time together was encouraging, fruitful and we did have some good moments of conversation). It was a great time and something I needed before heading off to seminary.
