I returned to Chehalis last night, after spending the weekend with Southminster Presbyterian Church at Camp Sawtooth (in Sun Valley, Idaho). I knew most of the youth from working at camp, so it was fun to be able to spend more time with them, have some great discussions and hang with them. Honestly, I wasn’t too excited about going because I’m so busy here at home, we’re doing .bE tomorrow night, and I just wanted to be at home, and work on packing up. But as soon as I got there and was picked up by Don (the pastor) and his son Eric, my attitude completely changed. I had a fabulous weekend. My good friend Jen was there, and it was wonderful to spend time with her. Southminster is a much more liberal congregation than Wendell, and in many ways, that was very refreshing. I had some great conversations with Don on the drive up, and it was great to get to know him better. I will be blogging a bit the next few days (after .bE) about some thoughts from the weekend re:worship in liberal churches, liberal songwriters, etc. Until then, it’s time for some .bE prep…
