Went and worshipped with the IKON, a group/community from Belfast, Ireland. Tomorrow night is Harp 46, and I’m so excited for that. Got a chance to meet Adele who was helping them set up IKON’s service. A very moving service…reflections from the Saturday after Christ was crucified. Lots of reflections, parables written by Pete Rollins – I’m hoping to get some of them. Would we still follow Christ if there had been no resurrection – if death had been the final champion over Christ. Was is it about Christ that draws us to him? Do we want to follow Jesus for Jesus’ sake, for the world’s sake, or do we want to follow Jesus for our sake – for our own benefit? Why do we follow Christ? It was a very good, well-designed and planned experience. I thought that out of the many that I’ve attended (out of the emergent/alt.worship scene), this one seemed to have a much more organic feel to it – and I loved that.
