Meeting the Bishop

June 10, 2005 Adam Walker Cleaveland

This is the Bishop of Babylon, Emmanuel (someone else spent some time with him, read about it here). I randomly met him while I was in Coptic Cairo, wandering around the grounds of the Greek Orthodox Monastery. He was very interested when I told him I was studying to be a priest, so he took me in to his office and gave me a bracelet that was blessed by someone really important, and a cross necklace that was also blessed. He said he hoped to see me again (which, I’ve come to realize, is what *everyone* says in Egypt). But, I thought that was a pretty sweet, random meeting. So, if anyone needs to connect with a Greek Orthodox Bishop of Babylon, let me know…
