It’s been a long day – and this is the position I’ve been in for most of it. I decided to stay in Dahab and be a bit of a ‘beach bum’ for a few days. It’s an interesting little town – all of the water they have in the city comes right from the ground, so it is all salty (water in sink, water in showers, everything) – so I haven’t showered yet – instead I just went to the beach and laid (layed…? someone help) down in the water; salt water, but…seemed more normal than taking a salt-water shower. I’ll do the same tomorrow…and then when I get to Jerusalem, I’ll get a real shower. I’m also wearing the same clothes for these 3 days. I don’t know, it’s like, I have one shirt that is already really sweaty, but it’s a good one for hot weather. So I figure, I should probably just keep getting the smelly one smellier…
I sat around today for a few hours for lunch and dinner. It’s nice that you can be so relaxed and just chill; it’s a very relaxed beach culture here in Dahab, which could be annoying I think if I lived here year-round, but it’s been pretty good day. Except for those times when you realize it could all be a lot better if you had a certain someone there with you. And then it makes you sick when you keep seeing couple after cute couple after cute couple…yah, it makes sitting around by yourself get a little old after a few hours. But, there is hope (end of August…another 2 weeks with Sarah…traveling to Seattle and Idaho…) – I’ll be here one more day tomorrow, which will be nice as I prepare for entering into Israel…and then I will begin the real portion of my summer, so that will be very nice.
Other than missing Sarah like crazy today, at dinner the little devil cats of Dahab kept trying to sneak up and steal my pizza – and they were very good at it, especially the damned black one. They have little cats running around all over this restaurant – some people feed them (thank you VERY much). Anyway, I thought it was interesting that the 666th picture I’d take on this camera would be of the cat that annoyed the “hell” out of me at dinner….damn cat.
