Jobs and…Arabic (ugh…..)

June 21, 2005 Adam Walker Cleaveland

Just a quick update, as I need to grab some dinner (which will consist of shwarma or fallafel – like always). I spent this morning just hanging around the office while they tried to figure out what to do with my job placement. As it turns out, the Bethlehem Peace Center will be having huge summer camps for youth in about 3 weeks, but until then – all they had was computer work. So, in the meantime, I’ll be helping out with a summer camp at a Lutheran school in Beit Sahour. I don’t know exactly what I’ll be doing, but I’m going to show up tomorrow morning and try out some of the different things. I’ll probably play sports with some kids, maybe do some music or art, and possibly do some computer training for some of the older kids. And perhaps, if the placement is a good fit, then perhaps I’ll just stay there the whole summer. We’ll see. It sounds good right now, I’ll know more by 8.30am tomorrow morning.

Arabic. 3 more hours today. Stuffy room. In the afternoon. After lunch. I used to fall asleep in Hebrew precept all last year. That’s so going to happen again sometime soon I think. 3 hours of Arabic is just too much for me. We’ll see how this works out.
