Felicity and an Affair

August 17, 2005 Adam Walker Cleaveland

It’s been a few days since Sarah left for Scotland, and she’s been having a very good time at Iona. I’ve been here in Atlanta, eating rather poorly (but doing better thanks to some of her friends who are getting me in for some food in the cafeteria), reading, emailing and getting hooked on Felicity. Yah, I know I’m not supposed to admit that outloud, but…and, yah it might just be the hair, but…I’m hooked on Felicity. I’m almost done with Season 1 (Noel and Felicity just broke up!)

So that’s Felicity. And now you’re asking, “Well, what about the affair?”

So Hana, one of Sarah’s friends, and I went to pick up Sarah’s car yesterday from Pep Boys. So I walked to the counter and said, “Yes, I’m here to pick up a car.” And this is the conversation that followed:

Mechanic: “What’s the name on that sir?”

Adam: “Walker.”

Mechanic: “Okay, Mr. Walker, just a second.”

[He finds the form and brings it over…]

Mechanic: “Okay, car for…Sarah Walker.” Then he looks at Sarah’s friend and says something to her (assuming that she was Sarah).

Adam: “Oh, this isn’t Sarah Walker.”

Mechanic: “Ahhh, okay….”

Adam: “You see, she’s out of the country right now, and I’m picking up the car for her.”

Mechanic: [While giving me a sly little “Oh, I see….” look] “Oh hey man – it’s okay. No need to explain anything to me….”

So, Sarah is gone for a only a couple days, and I have random mechanics assuming that I’m “hanging out” with someone other than Mrs. Walker…

…goodness!
