By the amount of stuff I brought, you’d think i was staying for…well, a really long time. It really is pretty pathetic, but…you know how it is, you drive somewhere, so you just keep throwing more and more stuff into your car.
But alas, it’s all mine (and more clothes and another bag or two you can’t see in the picture) and it’s all going in my car at 8am, Saturday morning as I begin the longest 15hr drive ever I think.
I’m leaving Atlanta – I’m leaving the “home” with my fiancée that I’ve found to be amazing, and new and comfortable for the past few weeks. I’m leaving the woman who I’ve found to be the most amazing, caring, compassionate, fun and wonderful person ever – the woman who loves me and is willing to spend the rest of her life with me. I have to leave. And it’s a 15hr drive – I’ve done it before – but I’ve never had to leave a fiancée before – this is new for me, and it’s going to be hard. Sarah (and everyone at CTS) is trying to convince me that I really *do* belong at Columbia and this drive up north to “that other” seminary is just not a wise decision.
But alas, I’m off to Princeton. I have some great friends who I am very excited to see again. There is an absolutely amazing group of guys who live on 1st Alex who I can’t wait to see tomorrow night. I actually do love walking around Princeton and the seminary at night. I have many exciting things happening this year (although I’m pretty damn busy — too busy probably). But it’s all going to be hard because the girl I love is 15hrs away – 15 long hours away. At any rate, I’m really not looking forward to leaving tomorrow morning.
I’ll be on the road all day tomorrow in case anyone feels the desire to call – and, if I don’t answer, I’m most likely talking to Sarah, but leave me a voicemail, that’d be great. Hope to hear from you tomorrow (here is the #: six-zero-nine, nine-three-three, four-zero-zero-zero) – and Andy, if you’re not busy, give me a call, we can chat about how to get you up and blogging…
