My alma mater

October 21, 2005 Adam Walker Cleaveland

So I graduated from Whitworth College. Lots of Whitworth folk go to Princeton Seminary; in fact, I think it’s still the seminary’s largest undergrad feeder school. I’m okay with being from Whitworth. I wasn’t so much when I first got here last year, because Whitworth students have tended to have a certain ‘stigma’ attached to them, specifically when it comes to where they stand on the theological spectrum that I wanted to distance myself from.

But I still like Whitworth and the community and Whitworth’s current President, Bill Robinson. So I thought I’d check out the Whitworthian today and see what’s new on campus. I found a few articles that were interesting. Some just hilarious…so, here are a few highlights from Whitworth recently:

  • Whitworth Trustees have approved the renaming of Whitworth to Whitworth University
  • A security guard was disciplined for almost running over a skateboarder
  • “The new Scotford Tennis Center and Ross Cutter Courts are open, but with a hitch. They are locked during the day to prevent harmful damage to the playing surface.“
  • A link to one of the local Campus Security officer’s website [article here]
