Over four months ago, I asked readers of this blog to donate money to a group of families whose homes were demolished by the Israeli government in the small village of Al-Khader, outside of Bethlehem. We were able to raise $567.27! I sent the money to the Middle East Fellowship (I was recently able to design the splash page for the organization’s website) in Pasadena and they made sure the money was transferred to the Holy Land Trust, the organization I worked with this past summer in Bethlehem. The money went to three families who lost their homes during that house-demolishing at the end of July ’05. This house demolition affected the families of Hassan Da’dou (10 persons), Jafar Da’dou (8 persons) and Ibrahim Da’dou (15 persons).
Thank you again for helping to raise the money – it’s exciting to see a way in which blogs can bring about change and help others.
