The Weepies at World Cafe Live

April 21, 2006 Adam Walker Cleaveland

Tonight I was at the World Cafe Live in Philly listening to The Weepies play a show. Classes were done for me today, 1 final paper is already written, and it was a great way to end the week and semester. After a great dinner and 2 Yuenglings, I made my way up to an open table on the left of the stage and enjoyed some great music. I got a chance to chat with Deb Talan a bit before the show, and then with Steve Tannen a little after the show. They’re both very cool and friendly. Of course, with the free WiFi at the venue, I had to pull out my laptop, besides the fact that I wanted to grab some audio from the show. If you listen to Vegas Baby, around the 41sec marker, Steve looked over and asked, “What’s on myspace man?” And I had a very funny response…”Nuthin’.” That’s all I could think of on the fly. Huh.

Anyway, they are definitely worth checking out if you can see them. If you do check out their myspace page, you can find the list of shows still to come.
