I love sharing new things with readers of this blog, and I have an exciting news and contest for you today. Jamey Heit is a very good friend of mine and an up and coming new author from Princeton. He just recently graduated with his Th.M from Princeton Theological Seminary, just published his first novel and is letting me give away 7 copies to readers of this blog. The novel is called “The Island of Marna” and you can find a lot of information on the website, including a press release, specific information about the book and Heit, and a few reviews.
Heit describes The Island of Marna as a contemporary moral story, which speaks for the times, but remains faithful to the gospel. According to the press release, The Island of Marna “captures readers and whisks them away to a Tolkienesque world starting from page one. The novel, while steeped in Christian tradition, offers readers a moral compass regardless of belief…”
Dr. Richard Osmer from Princeton Theological Seminary writes about the book: “I read this story and loved it…From the beginning, you get my interest and attention…Like Tolkien you begin to create a world of some depth.”
I can assure you that since Heit wrote the book, it will be amazing. I don’t know any more creative writer or person in general than Heit, and I can’t wait for my copy so I can read it and enter into the world which he has created for his readers.
UPDATE: The contest is over. The winners are (in order in which they won): Bobbie from Emerging Sideways, Brandy Cargo, Makeesha Fisher, Gareth Powell, David Hayward, Nathan Colquhoun, Ken Nussbaum and Ben Gray. They’ll be receiving the books soon and will be blogging about it soon. Thanks for playing!
