So I was sick of going back and forth between Dreamhost and (mt) Media Temple so I just made a choice and went with (mt) Media Temple’s Grid-Server. (mt) boasts instant activation, so I was a little confused when I didn’t get an email right back. However, about an hour later, I got a phone call from the sales department and the first thing they asked was, “So…where are you located right now?” I said “I’m at my in-laws for Christmas in Rochester…” Apparently they were a little concerned that an order was coming through that originated in Rochester, NY, used a Decatur, GA address and had a New Jersey cell phone.
So already they were concerned for me, that I had been scammed or something. But after we got that cleared up, and I received an email with all my login information while still on the phone with them, I was up and running. I am a little more used to cPanel, so it took awhile getting used to (mt)’s Account Center, but it is a beautiful interface. I called Tech Support with two pretty basic questions and was put directly in touch with a real-live person who was very helpful. My sites transferred over just fine and my cleavedesign.com site is now running on the Media Temple’s (gs).
Granted I’ve only been a (mt) user for a few hours now, but I’m impressed so far. I had heard some horror stories of people using the new (gs) but I’ve had no problems so far. Tomorrow I will try and transfer over walkercleaveland.com and then I’ll be working on continuing to design my new cleave design website. If all goes well, then I’ll be working on bringing my blog over to WordPress, hosted on (mt).
So…after 6.5 hours of being a (mt) Grid-Server user – I’m glad I signed up, made the switch and am a fan of (mt)!
