Andy Konigsmark Advances to Top 8 in American Gladiators

January 15, 2008 Adam Walker Cleaveland

In case you didn’t watch American Gladiators last night, but my buddy Andy Konigsmark kicked ass last night and advanced on to the Top 8. He was behind in points until the Eliminator, which he got the fastest male time for yet (2:04) and beat his opponent, even though his opponent had a 4 second head start. For more details on what else happened in the episode, check this out.

My favorite part of the show was just seeing a guy I have spent time with and gotten to know pretty well on TV. Andy is a hilarious guy with a great personality, and he was showing the real thing on the air, and not putting on some show. I think that was easily seen when he was getting interviewed after winning it, and his opponent Sharaud finally made it through the course, and Andy pointed and said, “Hey that’s my boy Sharaud…hey give it up for Sharaud.” It was also fun to watch Hulk Hogan and Laila Ali, the hosts, try to fit in all the religious one-liners they could, hearing Hulk calling Andy “Rev”, making a reference to getting baptized if he fell in the water, and hearing him referred to as the preacher man.

Anyway – keep your eye out for Andy as he’s still in and will be in the Top 8.
