#runrevrun Update as Week 3 Begins

February 22, 2010 Adam Walker Cleaveland

Today began week 3 of the #runrevrun training for the American River Parkway Half-Marathon. Week 3 is a big week because that’s normally the limit for my workout/fitness stuff. I do something for a about 3 weeks and then…I just get lazy and stop. So, it’s important to push through this week and keep going.

I got a new pair of running shoes this past week, which was exciting. I’m a HUGE fan of Fleet Feet and they did a great job getting me fitted. I picked up a pair of Saucony Omnis and they are an amazing improvement over my 4-yr old Brooks Beasts.

I’ve been noticing some improvement over my runs just in the past two weeks, which is great. I shaved two minutes off my four-mile run between week 2 and week 1, and tonight’s 3.5 mile run was the best feeling run yet (details below). I think I even got to the point where I started to enjoy the run, which is certainly something I never thought I’d be able to say. Now, I don’t know if I’ll be able to say that when they start getting even longer, but things are going good so far.
