Thank you to all who prayed for .bE last evening. It was a wonderful time. We had close to 50 people show up…and again, around 12 different churches represented. All of the guided prayer/worship time went very well, and then people stayed for about an hour afterward, interacting with the 12 prayer stations (including a communion station).
I was able to get in some “be” time for myself – but it’s still hard when you’re the one who has really helped put something like this together. I think, though, that it will just take time. When I first started leading worship with my guitar, I was pretty focused on the music, and so I wasn’t really worshipping…just playing my guitar. However, through time and playing a lot, I’ve found a balance between being ‘the leader’ and a worshipper.
A friend of mine really enjoyed .bE [check out his blog]. I have also received some comments from others as to how much they enjoyed the service. I’m glad that we could offer this service up to God to be used in whatever way he saw fit. I know that he was present last night – and I’m trusting that many left profoundly moved.
One of the stations we had last night was called the “What is….” Station. We just left sheets on the floor, and asked people what they thought with these words: prayer, life, beauty, love, grace, justice, truth, heaven, and the question “Who is Jesus?” People wrote some very sweet thoughts.
