How to Survive Your First PCUSA General Assembly

March 31, 2008 Adam Walker Cleaveland

Many of you saw that I mentioned that I’ll be at GA this June blogging for The Presbyterian Outlook. I’ve received some nice notes from folks, and my friend Adam even mentioned that he’d offer to give me some tips for surviving my first GA; in fact, his first tip was that I should “be prepared to be overwhelmed.” I can already get that sense from just looking at the schedule – some of the breakfasts start at 6.45am and some of the evening events go up until midnight.

So, I just thought there may be some seasoned GA-attendees who might have some helpful suggestions for me. So, here is your chance – what do I need to know about GA? What should I expect? What tips do you have to help me survive the 9 full days I’ll be there?
